Welcome to Orkney, where you will find 3 great hostels all offering affordable accommodation in the stunning environment of Orkney.

On the Orkney Mainland there is the 3 star Birsay Outdoor Centre.  On Hoy, which is one of the southern Islands of Orkney, we have two hostels, the 4 star Hoy Centre and the smaller 3 star Rackwick Hostel. 

The Hoy Centre and Birsay Outdoor Centre are now open all year round, Rackwick Hostel closes on the 30th September 2009 and will be reopening April 2010.

All 3 hostels are owned and maintained to a high standard by Orkney Islands Council, are affiliated to the Scottish Youth Hostel Association. All hostels are equipped with bedding and self-catering facilities!

Located in close proximity to spectacular and varied coastline, the 3 star Birsay Outdoor Centre can accommodate up to 28 people.

Our largest hostel set at the foot of Ward Hill, the highest point in Orkney.  The Centre can accommodate up to 32 people in high quality accommodation.

Lovely facilities, very comfy all round.  Definitely 4 star or more! Location top too

Rackwick Outdoor Centre

Rackwick Outdoor Centre

Our smallest hostel is found nestling in the beautiful Rackwick Valley. The hostel can accommodate up to 8 people, as well as providing camping in the sheltered grounds.

Must rate in my 5 hostels anywhere and so well kept.
